Our Story

Luigi’s Al Fresco opened in July 2019 after a very successful Pop up event at The Limes guesthouse. Owned by Emily, Enzo & Giovanni who pride themselves of their hometowns, in south of Italy.

“Our aim was to bring a little piece of Italy in Maldon. We love to define our cuisine Traditional, we like to stick with the original recipes adopting our great grandmothers methods. We believe good quality seasonal produce is vital for a perfect dish & we always find the best ingredients from local suppliers and small producers, and of course, from our hometown.”

    “If you’re looking for authentic Italian food, amazing Al fresco ambience & friendly welcoming staff, then this is the place for you. Set in a pretty courtyard with red and white check tablecloths, Olive trees and basil plants on each table, it really is a lovely place to spend a few hours eating and drinking. Our new favorite restaurant, we’ll definitely be back very soon.”

    “Luigis is a quaint, family run Restaurant. The atmosphere is buzzy and the food good. That is reason enough to go, but even if it had none of that, by god, go for the pizza!

    I cannot praise it highly enough, the sauce if perfect, the toppings are lovely but most importantly the base is thin, sweet, chewy, and the crust is bubbled and toasted. It is the best pizza I’ve ever eaten!”
